Adult/Child Painting at WEE Farm

This class is a fun day of painting together. No experience is needed! Each person is provided a canvas, acrylic paints, and all the supplies needed to create their own masterpiece that can be hung side-by-side for a combined work of art. Adults come paint with your child and enjoy a visit to WEE Farm.

Learn to create a needle felted animal out of core wool and colorful wool roving. Please note: we will use sharp needles to poke at the wool fibers to help condense them to make a sculpture. Choose one animal to make during class, or create your own!

Create a stunning portrait of your beloved pet! Each furry companion will be hand-drawn on a 16 x 20 canvas, ready for you to bring to life with the help of a professional artist. All materials are provided, making this a wonderful opportunity to craft a heartfelt gift for yourself or someone special.

•Learn about household pets, barnyard animals, backyard critters....and MUCH more!

Harvest produce and native edible plants directly from the WEE Farm garden, then work together to create a seasonal farm-fresh salad. You’ll learn how to identify edible native species, when and how to harvest common vegetables, and how to combine flavors from the field to the plate. 

Children will be encouraged to make observations, ask questions, and use their sense of wonder about the natural world while exploring ways to be kind and respectful towards animals and the environment. 

Join us for a peaceful walk around WEE Farm.  Collect seeds, learn how to store them properly.  And discuss native Minnesota plants & vegetation.  Includes take home seed jar!

 Use items around the house to create a mini pumpkin flinger.

Jr. Engineers- (Ages 11 under) will launch candy pumpkins (1" x 1") 

Engineers- (Ages 12 and up) will launch mini pumpkins (baseball size)

Journey into the wild, and develop important skills of observation, classification, and communication while exploring the animals at WEE Farm! Hands-on learning, science activities, stories, fun games, and creative crafts! Learn about the importance of care, respect, and responsibility for all living creatures.

This interactive session will be led by Derek Nicholas, a member of the Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe and founder of Wiisinig LLC, who will share knowledge, stories, and traditions that have been passed down through generations. 

Learn how to plant, grow, and harvest your cole crops (kale, broccoli, mustard greens, cabbage) late in the gardening season. Participants will receive an instructional handout as well as a packet of cole crop seeds to try growing at home!
